Mr McGregor began at Haileybury Rendall School as its second Principal in November 2020. Prior to accepting this role, he was the Associate Principal of Westbourne Grammar School in Melbourne for eight years and also worked at Wesley College, Carey Grammar and Haileybury’s Berwick campus.
Under his leadership, enrolments have grown from around 600 to almost 1,100 students over the last six years and HRS has consistently provided a standout education for students from diverse local and international backgrounds. The Junior School has consistently produced the best NAPLAN outcomes in the Northern Territory and recent Year 12 results saw over 40% of students achieve ATARs at 90 or above.
Andrew is also a passionate Maths teacher. He believes that student learning is the school’s core business and that a contemporary education must include development of the whole person and involvement in a wide range of extracurricular activities. He is proud that HRS includes a thriving boarding school and is regarded as a Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Education, with over 15% of the cohort being from First Nations backgrounds.
