Welcome to Haileybury Rendall School, where every student matters, every day, and our vision is to be a truly great world school.
As part of One Haileybury, we are connected to a leading educational network that delivers exceptional learning programs across a number of campuses, four in Melbourne, Haileybury Pangea, Australia’s premier private online school, and an international campus in Tianjin, China.
Drawing on the expertise, innovation and proven success of these campuses, Haileybury Rendall School has established an outstanding educational experience uniquely tailored to the Darwin community, combining world-class opportunities with the values, culture and spirit of the Northern Territory.
We have won prestigious recognition from the Australian Education Awards, including Boarding School of the Year 2022 and Australian Regional School of the Year 2023. We have also achieved several Excellence Awards including Wellbeing Programs, Best Indigenous Education Program and top Independent Primary School in Australia.
The Australian Education Awards showcase the top-performing schools, principals, department heads, and teachers for their outstanding achievements and transformative work that makes a profound difference in the lives of young people across Australia.
These awards acknowledge the outstanding staff and programs providing exceptional academic outcomes for students and powerfully affirm the amazing work we are doing in all areas of school life.

Developing and sustaining a strong academic culture is a central priority at our school. Our teaching approach draws on the highly successful Explicit Instruction model, which is expertly adapted and implemented throughout the Primary School and across key learning areas in Secondary School.
In the senior years, students undertake the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), a rigorous and widely respected qualification that prepares them for future study and career pathways. Our students consistently achieve outstanding Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) results, opening doors to leading universities and tertiary opportunities across Australia.
Our commitment to academic excellence begins early. Over the past five years, our Primary School students have achieved the strongest results in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) in the Northern Territory, reflecting the strength of our teaching, learning culture, and high expectations for every student.
Our academic structure is enhanced by a diverse extra-curricular program and an unwavering commitment to helping our students develop the life skills that are essential for living and working successfully beyond school.
The wellbeing of our students is at the forefront of everything we do, and we want all our students to leave school excited and prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Our academic and pastoral programs help foster this attitude by building skills in resilience, creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking.
We continue to build on our reputation as a leading Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Education. The recent growth in learning outcomes achieved by our Indigenous students in literacy and numeracy is outstanding and a direct result of the dedication and commitment of our students and teachers. Our enviable Year 12 graduation and retention rates are a source of great pride.
Boarding continues to flourish at the School. Our boarding facilities are constantly upgraded and the opening of an International Boarding House in 2023 has allowed growth across all sectors. We proudly cater for a wide range of students from across South-East Asia, remote Indigenous communities and rural regions across Australia. We provide a genuinely diverse cultural experience for all our students.
We look forward to you visiting our School and becoming part of our community.
