Celebrating some great HRS recognition

We were delighted to recently be recognised as the leading Primary School in the Northern Territory. This achievement is a testament to the outstanding leadership of our Head of Junior School, Lisa Doyle (pictured below with some student leaders), and the dedication and professionalism of our entire teaching and support staff team. Most importantly, this recognition reflects the efforts and achievements of our exceptional students, as well as the ongoing support and partnership of our valued families.

Further affirming recognition came with HRS being named an Excellence Awardee in the Australian Educator Awards for Best Regional School in Australia. This acknowledgement is particularly significant as the selection criteria consider all aspects of school life, reflecting the collective efforts and achievements of our entire school community. HRS was honoured to receive this award in 2023 and has continued to achieve Excellence recognition each year since.

HRS was also delighted to once again receive an Excellence Award nomination for Best Indigenous Education Program. This recognition was strongly centred on the outstanding outcomes being achieved through our Ochre Programs across Years 7–10 and reflects our ongoing commitment to being recognised as a Centre of Excellence in Indigenous Education.

National award winners will be announced in mid-August later this year.

Across the School, it has been a wonderfully vibrant and energetic start to Term 2, with students actively engaging in a wide range of activities. Our Middle/Senior School and Junior School Athletics Carnivals brought a real buzz of colour and excitement to the campus. Students participated enthusiastically, showcasing not only their athletic ability but also a strong sense of House spirit, camaraderie and friendly competition. The atmosphere was filled with encouragement, laughter and plenty of spirited banter, making these events a highlight of the term.

Sustainability Week also provided a fantastic opportunity for students to come together and reflect on the importance of caring for our environment. Through a variety of activities and initiatives, students demonstrated their commitment to making a positive impact, both within our School and beyond.

We are also looking forward to welcoming our next foreign study tour group arriving from China over the weekend. With a busy and engaging 10-day program ahead, this will be a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange and connection, enriching the experience for both our visitors and our students.

Finally, we wish all students involved in the upcoming musical production, We Will Rock You, the very best. Their dedication and hard work promises to deliver an outstanding performance, and we look forward to seeing the results on stage.
