Hard Work Pays Off!
Our VCAL students recently presented their Semester 1 work folios to their Principal, Mr Craig Glass. The students took the opportunity to discuss their VET courses and class subjects.
They proudly showed off the fantastic work they had been doing across subjects including Literacy, Numeracy, Work Related Skills, Personal Development Skills, Music, Art and Woodwork.
Sami said, “I was nervous at first, but it was actually quite easy talking to Mr Glass”.
Babylon spoke about her dad’s weevil program and presented her work folios. She explained, “I felt anxious at first, but I faced my fears and got through it”.
Mr Glass told Esha she was very confident and a hard worker. “I felt great talking to Mr Glass”, she said afterwards.
Haileybury Rendall School is very proud of these hardworking VCAL students. We’re looking forward to a great Semester 2. Congratulations to all!
One of our roles at school is to prepare students for their life beyond Year 12. Students need to be independent learners. They need to be able to study cooperatively with their peers and on their own.
Earlier this year the Year 12 students requested that we open the Study Centre for a longer period, to give them a longer block of time after school to study.
Consequently, the Study Centre is open until 5.30pm for Year 12 students on Monday to Thursday each week of term.
The students have even brought along afternoon treats to share to keep them going through a practice SAC, test or essay. It has been a pleasure to see them use the space in such a positive and constructive manner as they prepare for their final examinations later in the year.
We wish them the best of luck!
