Across the term, there has been a strong sense of connection, participation and enthusiasm, with students making the most of everything boarding life has to offer.
One of the major highlights this term has been our trips to Litchfield National Park. These outings provided students with the opportunity to relax, explore and enjoy the beautiful natural environment of the Top End. Swimming, sightseeing and spending time together outdoors created memorable experiences for students and staff alike. These trips continue to be an important part of our boarding program, encouraging students to build friendships, confidence and a strong sense of community outside of the normal school routine.
Sport has also played a significant role throughout the term, with many students enjoying the opportunity to attend AFL matches in Darwin. The games featuring the Gold Coast Suns, Port Adelaide and St Kilda created plenty of excitement, with students thoroughly enjoying the atmosphere and energy that comes with elite level sport. For many students, attending these matches was a memorable experience and another valuable opportunity to connect with the wider community while supporting their favourite teams and players.
It has been wonderful to see the return of the Mindil Markets for the dry season. These evenings continue to be a favourite within the boarding community, bringing students together to enjoy food, music and activities in a relaxed and social environment.
Our weekend program has remained a central feature of boarding life, offering students a balance of recreation, relaxation and social connection. Whether participating in outings, enjoying activities within the boarding houses or simply spending time together, students have continued to demonstrate the positive spirit that makes our boarding community such a welcoming and supportive environment.
Throughout the term, our ongoing focus on connection, respect and participation has remained at the centre of boarding life. We are proud of the way students continue to support one another, engage in new experiences and contribute positively to the community around them.
As we move toward the halfway point of the term, we reflect with pride on all that has been achieved so far and look forward to finishing the semester with the same sense of energy, belonging and togetherness that has defined the year to date.
