Award Winning Artists

Talented Applied Learning students Danielle (Year 12) and Monica (Year 11) entered their artworks into the annual Rights on Show exhibition in December 2023, organised by Darwin Community Legal Service.

The students reflected on the importance of country, culture and storytelling in their works, responding to this year’s theme Dialogue for the Guarantee of Peace.

Both were pleased to finalise sales on opening night and Danielle’s artworks caught the eye of the judges. Her paintings were praised for their sophisticated style and she was presented with the Secondary School Award for her painting Storytelling on Red Desert Sand.

Congratulations Danielle and Monica, well done for representing your voices in this space.
