Middle School AFL Girls Claim Premiership

Our Middle School boys and girls footy teams have been working hard in recent months, competing against other schools in the Middle School AFL Competition. Both teams played well throughout the season, building on a great year in 2024.

The girls showed class in reaching the Grand Final against the reigning premiers, O’Loughlin Catholic College, a team they had met in the same game the previous year. Our girls displayed fortitude and perseverance, particularly when the score came within one point in the final quarter, to take the win 30-23 in the dying minutes. The girls and the HRS crowd were ecstatic when the final siren blew, taking the premiership for the first time.

Year 9 Melbourne Experience

Now in its fourth year, the 2025 Year 9 Melbourne Experience was one to cherish. Occurring over the Darwin Show long weekend, 22 Year 9 students and three staff enjoyed the sights and sounds of much that Melbourne has to offer.
From street art in laneways, traffic jams and tram rides, the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island, to hot jam donuts at Queen Victoria Markets, to pies and footy at the MCG, the trip did not disappoint. A major component of the trip is the opportunity for Darwin and Melbourne Haileybury students to build connections and friendships, many of which have stood the test of time in previous years. It was five jam-packed days which will no doubt be a highlight for the students and staff involved.
