Digital Thumbprint Workshops

In Week 8, Middle School students took part in the Digital Thumbprint workshops, an engaging and interactive program designed to help them thrive in the online world.

Year 7 students explored what it means to build respectful relationships online. Through thought-provoking scenarios, they considered the impact of their words and actions, and discussed important topics such as consent, image-based abuse, and the influence of Artificial Intelligence. Many students reflected on how they can use their voices and choices to create safer spaces for themselves and their peers.

Year 8 students learned practical ways to stay safe from hackers, scammers, and impersonators who target young people through gaming and social media. By practising digital defence strategies, they discovered how small, smart moves can make a big difference.

In Year 9, students had the opportunity to experiment with GenAI applications, gaining new ideas for creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. At the same time, they developed strategies to protect themselves from the risks of misuse.

The workshops provided timely, practical insights to empower our students to make wise choices in their digital lives.

Student Leadership 2026

The Middle School student leadership process for 2026 is underway. Year 8 students have been nominated, and voting has taken place during Week 10. Students will be shortlisted and interviews will occur in early Term 4. Thank you to all students who showed courage by self-nominating.

We look forward to seeing the impact of our student leaders and the amplification of all student voices in 2026.

Ochre Integrated Studies Excursion

On Friday, 5 September, our Ochre students had an exciting and educational session at Crocosaurus Cove. The visit was designed to deepen their understanding of water usage in our environments and to reinforce the knowledge they gained during their recent Integrated Studies unit. The students were absolutely engaged throughout the excursion, soaking up information and enjoying the hands-on experience. One of the highlights was the opportunity to hold some of the amazing animals, including baby crocodiles and snakes, which brought their learning to life in a memorable way. This visit not only enriched their understanding of environmental water use but also sparked curiosity and respect for these incredible creatures and their habitats. It was a fantastic day of learning and fun for all involved!
