A Busy and Inspiring Start to Term 2 at HRS

Our school was proudly represented at the Darwin ANZAC Day Dawn Service, where our Prefects laid a wreath on behalf of the HRS community. A big thank you also goes to all students who entered the ANZAC Biscuit Competition, and to our dedicated judges — Mr Nowak, Ms Pickering Tyers, and the Prefects — for taking their taste-testing responsibilities so seriously.

Congratulations to Isaac Loganathan, who has been selected to represent the Northern Territory at the National Debating Competition in Sydney. This is an outstanding achievement, and we wish him the very best of luck.

Our Inter-House Athletics Carnival has been one of the highlights of the term so far, with wonderful participation and school spirit on display throughout the day. The addition of the painted House banners for each House, created under the expert guidance of Ms Polly, was a fantastic contribution to the carnival atmosphere. Congratulations to Baru House for taking out the overall win, and to all students for the way they supported and encouraged one another.

Sustainability Week was also an extraordinary success due to the outstanding leadership and preparation of our School Vice Captains and Sustainability Prefects, Isaac Loganathan and Madi Woolley, alongside the Eco Committee. The week included an engaging Senior School Assembly presentation, screen printing activities, smoothie bikes, and a cake stall. It was fantastic to see students from the Senior, Middle, and Junior Schools all working together to promote environmental awareness and learn more about the impact we have on our world. Congratulations to all students involved.

As we approach mid-year exams and final Unit 3 assessments, we encourage all students to maintain consistent revision, use feedback effectively, and continue developing strong study habits. We wish all students the very best as they complete their exams.
