Term 3 has begun with plenty of activity and excitement across the Senior School.
We welcomed several exchange students to HRS, including Emma and Erin from Haileybury Turnford in the UK. After spending three weeks with us, they have now continued their exchange at Haileybury Melbourne. We also welcomed Benjamin Rodriguez Ramirez from Spain, who will be with us for five weeks, as well as Ella, Tilly and Zoe from Haileybury Melbourne, who are joining us for the term. All the students have immersed themselves in the HRS experience and made a wonderful contribution to our community.
We also farewelled Phoenix and Emillia, recipients of the Principal’s Exchange, who are attending Haileybury’s City Campus in Melbourne this term. Both have settled in well and are enjoying city life, although Melbourne’s cold weather has taken some adjustment!
Our Year 10 students have also completed their work experience placements, gaining valuable skills and returning with many positive stories to share.
Fundraising has been another important focus, particularly the World’s Greatest Shave. Congratulations to the students who committed to cutting or shaving their hair and raised a significant amount for this worthy cause.
We also congratulate our Ethics Olympiad team—Sam, Mia, Madi, Ashlee and Isaac — who finished 23rd in the international final against more than 60 teams. Further congratulations go to Oscar, selected for NASA Space Camp in Alabama, and Kaan, who represented Australia at the Judo Junior Asian Cup.
What an outstanding start to the term, with much more still to come!
