Raising funds and kicking goals
As we come to the end of a long and busy term, I would like to acknowledge the many achievements of our Senior School students.
Our Unit 3/4 students recently completed their trial examinations in preparation for the final VCAA exams in Term 4. These exams are an important step in refining study strategies, identifying areas for improvement, and building confidence ahead of the final assessments. We commend our Year 12 students for the commitment and focus they continue to show.
On the sporting field, our Senior Boys Football team had a remarkable season, going undefeated all year and making it through to the Grand Final. Although the result did not go their way on the day, the team played with great spirit and determination. A special congratulations goes to Sonny (Year 11), who was awarded Best on Ground for the final.
The Senior School Musical, The Addams Family, came to life on stage after months of hard work and rehearsals. The Friday and Saturday evening performances were truly outstanding, showcasing the talent, creativity, and teamwork of both the cast and crew. Congratulations to all students and staff involved for bringing such a professional and entertaining production to our community.
This week also saw the rescheduled World’s Greatest Shave event, led by Social Justice Prefect Oliver (Year 12). The lunchtime fundraiser featured novelty events, hair shaving, colouring, and a sausage sizzle, raising valuable funds for the Leukemia Foundation.
I wish all families a safe and restful holiday. Best of luck to our Year 12 students as they continue preparing for their final exams in Term 4.

What is happening in the school Art Gallery?
Year 12 This year, the Haileybury Rendal School library is proud to host an Art Exhibition that presents artworks from the VCE Art Making & Exhibiting Unit 3 & 4 class, showcasing the students’ creativity, skill, and dedication that have been developed over their final year of study. From canvas and watercolour paintings, printmaking, drawing, and soft sculptures with mixed media, their work reveals ideas of personal journeys, responding to the natural world and cultural references. You can read about their ideas and cultural connections on the didactic boards that are presented next to their artworks.
Year 10
Also on display is a collection of completed artworks created by the Year 10 Art class with Ceramic and Photographic techniques. Emphasis on developing technical skills, their work also highlights the critical and conceptual thinking that underpins contemporary artmaking. On display are architectural black and white photography, cyanotype sun prints, ceramic forms using slab and underglaze techniques, and acrylic painting designs. Next term… Look out for the next exhibition – Year 10 Art self-portrait drawings, and watercolour landscapes, with Year 7 ceramics.
