After taking a transformative gap year to recharge and reflect, Charlotte Comitalo (OH 2023), a proud graduate of Haileybury Rendall School, pursued her dream to relocate to Melbourne to embark on a challenging double degree in Law (Honours) and Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) at Monash University.
Being driven by a passion for intellectual rigour and societal relevance, Charlotte explains "I've always wanted to challenge myself, and these fields not only demand intellectual rigor but also equip me with the tools to think critically, advocate effectively, and hopefully, create real change."
Relocating to Melbourne marked a significant shift for Charlotte, who attributes her smooth transition to the supportive community at Mannix College and the life lessons gleaned during her gap year, along with the support of the OHA Relocation Bursary. The OHA Relocation Bursary provides a portion of monetary support for Haileybury graduates relocating interstate or internationally to undertake higher education tuition.
Looking ahead, Charlotte is looking forward to a future filled with travel and opportunities to broaden her perspective. Ultimately, she aspires to leverage her legal expertise to make a positive impact in her chosen field.
Reflecting on her time at HRS, Charlotte fondly remembers the supportive environment that shaped her path. "I enjoyed all my classes, especially the small English and Chemistry classes in Year 12," she recalls. "My teachers' dedication to ensuring I understood the content deeply was invaluable."
When asked about what advice she would give to younger self ahead of graduating, Charlotte reflects, "It can feel overwhelming, but in hindsight, everything falls into place. Trust yourself and do your best."
Charlotte CC's journey is a testament to resilience, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to making a meaningful difference—a journey that continues to inspire both peers and mentors alike.
